Mexico City streets

This week I made a quick visit to Mexico City to run a few errands that I had to do. Even that I love going to the city every time I can, this time was the exception. Since early in the morning things started going the wrong way, plans changed and I ended up loosing the day in the middle of the streets stucked in traffic. At least I got to finish what I went to do. 

I wanted to shoot some pictures for the blog, but as I said before, everything turned out badly until we were parked in this street and I decided to shoot right there, I liked the result, a very casual and simple outfit in the middle of a very busy city street.

Esta semana hice una visita rápida a la ciudad de México para hacer algunas cosas que tenia que hacer desde hace un tiempo. Aunque amo ir a la ciudad cada vez que puedo, esta vez fue la excepción. Desde temprano en la mañana las cosas empezaron a ir de la forma equivocada, los planes cambiaron y termine por perder un día en medio de las calles atorada en el trafico. Por lo menos pude acabar de hacer a lo que fui. 

Quería tomar unas fotos para el blog, pero como dije antes, todo salio mal hasta que estábamos estacionados en esta calle y decidí tomar unas fotos ahí mismo, me gusto el resultado: un look muy casual y simple en medio de una calle en una ciudad muy ocupada.

El Closet de Vainilla opening

Yesterday I got to attend to the opening of the showroom of El Closet de Vainilla. A new mexican brand created by the amazing designer Paola Wong. As I told you before (in this post) I love the idea behind El Closet de Vainilla. I love how trendy, chic, sweet and femenine the clothes are, but mostly I love how affordable the prices are and that you can easily get it at La Comer (a mexican retailing store) while doing your groceries. 

Let me also tell you about how adorable the showroom is. It matches perfectly the sweetness that the clothes provide, it envelops you in a girly girl enviroment that makes you wanna stay in forever. The displays are great and the whole place is filled with lovely accessories and clothes from both lines: El Closet de Vainilla and Pink Magnolia designed by Paola. It was an experience that I recommend to all women, you won't regret it and you'll love everything you see (literally).

Ayer tuve la oportunidad de asistir a la ignauración del showroom de El Closet de Vainilla. Una nueva marca mexicana creada por la gran diseñadora Paola Wong. Como ya les había contado (en este post) me encanta la idea detrás de El Closet de Vainilla. Amo lo trendy, chic, dulce y femenina es la ropa, pero lo que mas me gusta es lo accesible que es y que ademas la puedes conseguir fácilmente en La Comer mientras haces el super. 

También déjenme decirles lo increíble que esta el showroom. Coincide perfecto con la dulzura que la ropa proporciona, te envuelve en un ambiente super femenino que te da ganas de quedarte ahí para siempre. La ropa la muestran de una forma muy padre y todo el lugar esta lleno de accesorios divinos y ropa de las dos lineas El Closet de Vainilla y Pink Magnolia diseñadas por Paola. Fue una experiencia que le recomiendo a todas las mujeres, no se van a arrepentir y les va a encantar todo lo que vean (literalmente).

Black and White

If you ask me which one is my favorite trend for this spring, I'd say black and white without thinking about it two times. First of all because it seems to be a trend that will remain a classic and will never die. Second of all because this trend is the perfect example of how less is more because even that mixing this two colors that are filled with simplicity they turn out to be so elegant and sophisticated. And finally but not least, because whether it is mixing prints (like in this outfit) or adding pops of color, this color duo is always making us think of new ways to wear it. So yes, when I saw it in many runways for this season I couldn't be happier and I couldn't wait for the time to finally wear it.

Si me preguntan cual es mi tendencia favorita para esta primavera, les diria que blanco y negro sin pensarlo dos veces. Primero que nada porque parece ser una tendencia que se mantendra como un clasico y que nunca morira. En segundo lugar porque esta tendencia es el ejemplo perfecto de como menos es mas porque aunque se trate de mezclar dos colores que estan llenos de simpleza, juntos se convierten en una maxima expresion de elegancia y sofisticacion. Por ultimo pero no menos importante, porque ya sea mezclar estampados (como en este outfit) o agregando "pops" de color, este duo de colores siempre nos va a hacer pensar en nuevas formas de usarlo. Asi que si, cuando vi esta tendencia en muchas pasarelas para esta temporada no pude estar mas feliz y no pude esperar el momento perfecto para usarla finalmente.

Treasure Discovered

Isn't it amazing when you find clothes in your closet that you didn't remember having? Well, that is just what happened to me while I was searching around my closet for a post that I did a couple weeks ago (check it here). I saw this dress and when I tried it on I just couldn't wait to wear it, so when the weather was behaving quite nicely I took the chance and wore this outfit. I gotta add that I used my grandma pearls to accessorize it and  give it a feminine and preppy touch but the funny thing here is that whenever I use her jewelery I just feel her so close to me that it makes me wanna wear them for the rest of my life. Anyways... What do you think?? Like what you see??

¿No es lo mejor cuando encuentras ropa en tu closet que no te acordabas que tenias? Bueno, eso es justo lo que me paso cuando estaba indagando en mi closet para hacer un post de hace algunas semanas (véanlo aquí). Me encontré con este vestido y cuando me lo probé no podía esperar mas para poder usarlo, así que cuando el clima estuvo agusto tome la oportunidad y me puse este outfit. Debo añadir que use las perlas de mi abuela para accesorizar el look y darle un aire femenino y preppy, lo chistoso es que siempre que uso su joyería la siento tan cerca a mi que me hace querer usarla para el resto de la vida. En fin, ¿Qué piensan? ¿Les gusta lo que ven?

The purple dress

I bought this dress from "El Closet de Vainilla" a couple months ago in La Comer (a mexican retailing store). I hadn't had the chance to wear it, but finally this weekend was the perfect timing. Truth is that this is a dress that I love ever since I saw it for the first time on the video of the ad campaign of the brand. I feel that the design makes this piece very sexy, ellegant and femenine at the same time. I love the gold details and specially that it has some transparencies.

I believe that what I like the most about this dress is the concept behind its brand. "El Closet de Vainilla" is the first 100% Mexican brand that offers a variety of super-trendy designs at affordable prices. If you still do not know "El Closet de Vainilla" do not wait more and go to the nearest "La Comer" to know all about the new season of the brand or visit their webpage.

Compre este vestido de "El Closet de Vainilla" hace un par de meses en La Comer. No había tenido la oportunidad de usarlo, pero este fin de semana llegó. La verdad es un vestido que me encanta desde que lo vi por primera vez en el video de la campaña de la marca, siento que el diseño lo hace muy sexy, elegante y femenino a la vez, me encantan los detalles dorados que tiene y sobre todo que tiene un poco de transparencias.

I have been dying to own a pair of cateye sunglasses ever since they got back on track. To be honest, I love how they evocate they style of Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. They have something that can make anyone look so ladylike, glamourous and femenine. 

Finally I got them and I cant stop loving them. What do you think, do you like them?

Desde que los lentes en forma de ojo de gato hicieron su reaparicion he muerto por tener un par de estos. Para ser honesta amo como evocan el estilo de Audrey Hepburn y Grace Kelly. Me encanta que tienen ese algo que puede hacer que cualquiera se vea super glamurosa, femenina y muy elegante. Al fin tengo unos y no puedo parar de amarlos. ¿Qué piensan, les gustan?
